NYC - DOB TRAINING

Local Law 196 of 2017, requires Supervisors at job sites requiring a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager receive 62 hours of site safety training (SST).

This only includes Site Safety Managers, Site Safety Coordinators, Concrete Safety Managers, Construction Superintendents and Competent Persons designated by Construction Superintendents.

Who Needs 32Hrs SST

This course is a requirement for Site Safety Managers, Site Safety Coordinators, Concrete Safety Managers, Construction Superintendents and Competent Persons designated by Construction Superintendents.

Course Benefits

Be familiar with terms associated with falls in construction.
Recognize, avoid and prevent fall hazards.
List and identify the consequences of drug and alcohol use and abuse.
Recognize problems associated with substance dependency.
Recognize and understand issues of chemical dependence that may adversely affect the lives of others.

Understand the purpose and proper presentation of pre-task meetings.
Be aware of administrative regulatory requirements associated with record keeping.

List and identity the different types of fall protection needed when working on a scaffold.
Recognize the permit requirements needed in order to comply with Chapter 33 of the NYC Building Code.
Be familiar with terms and the phenomenon of electricity and how it causes harm.
Be familiar with terms, equipment and procedures associated with first aid and CPR.
Be familiar with the health effects of asbestos and lead in the workplace.
Recognize locations where asbestos and lead containing materials may be found.
Avoid health hazards associated with asbestos and lead.
Be generally familiar with confined spaces and permit required confined spaces.
